Map tiles © MapTiler, map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Attribution is displayed on every map view, as that licence requires.
When no MapTiler key is configured, maps are rendered by Apple's MapKit and Apple's own attribution applies.
Chauffeur uses no third-party libraries. Everything is built on Apple's own frameworks — SwiftUI, SwiftData, Core Motion, Core Location, Core Bluetooth, MapKit, Swift Charts and CryptoKit — which are covered by your agreement with Apple rather than by a licence we can grant.
The Garmin FIT reader and writer were implemented from Garmin's published FIT Protocol documentation. FIT is a trademark of Garmin Ltd.; Chauffeur is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Garmin.
RaceBox support was implemented from RaceBox's published BLE protocol documentation. Chauffeur is not affiliated with RaceBox.
DBC file support follows the widely-used CAN database format. Signal definitions for specific vehicles are supplied by you, not bundled — community projects such as commaai/opendbc publish them under their own licences, and those licences govern the files you import.
OBD-II support follows SAE J1979 and the ELM327 and STN command sets. ELM327 is a trademark of Elm Electronics; OBDLink and STN are trademarks of ScanTool.net.
The scoring thresholds are derived from published ride-comfort research, principally ISO 2631-1 and ISO 2631-5 and the work of de Winkel et al. (2023), Bellem et al. (2016, 2017), Hoberock (1976) and Andersson & Nilstam (1984), along with more recent test-track and real-driving studies of automated-vehicle comfort and car sickness.
Those authors are not affiliated with Chauffeur and have not reviewed this implementation. Any error in applying their findings is ours.
